Go to Support system in Dell website..put model and serial number(you can see at the bottom of the laptop)..it will find out whats missing..and what you have to update. It can detect Software problem as well as hardware problems. good luck.

If any IT realted issues, throw your problem in javap: java help available thread. For descriptive solutions, post your thread in javap thread.

 

Reboot your computer, press F8 .it provides you with options. select  Last Known Good Configuration and see if it works.

 

Looks like your computer is affected by

Virus Profile: BackDoor-CKB.gen.be

What you need to do is following:

1.Open up your pc

2.take out your harddrive

3.Spray some Raid on your Harddrive,clean it thoroughly using some bleach, and let it dry in sun for arnd 20-30 mins.You can also use some fabric softner for better outcome.

4. Place your harddrive back and turn ur pc on, see if its working, if not repeat from step 1.

Anyway jokes apart,

Looks like your explorer.exe(the application responsible for the taskbar, desktop, and Start Menu) is messed up.

Open up the taskmanager(which you said, you cant, i'll get back to it later)..

Goto processes tab, highlight explorer.exe, and click end process

Click File menu of taskmanager, click on new task(Run)

in the create new task dialog box, enter explorer and press ok..that should solve the problemo...

 

Regarding taskmanager, you might have some kind of spyware in ur PC, download free antivirus i.e AVG, and do a full computer scan with it, that should solve the taskmanager thing and also check if it solved ur other problem.

First scan your laptop with Antivirus and Antispyware.There are few free products like Microsoft Security essentials and Spybot(just google them, you would get them).

If it doesnot help.Go for system restore.You can use System utility CD(reinstallation cd)that came with your computer.After all files are loaded it will give option for installation and repair.Choose repair.Try to restore your system to earlier time .

If does not work there is one more thing you can do.Do clean install using reinstallation CD.Dont worry about loosing old documents, they would be dumped in a folder named windows.old. You can get them from  that folder later but you would loose your software installation.
