Nirmala Subedi, one of the victims of Alabama Car Accident, is recovering day by day. She has still problem with speech & left hand. Her brother Dhruba Raj Subedi is also with her in Alabama. After a long treatment in Hospital & Rehab Center, she couldn't gain proper fitness. Her left part is not working properly. One of the Nepalese Student Associations (NSA) at Troy University had been active in raising funds for her help and support. It was a good initiation though! Unfortunately I got to know from her brother that she hasn't received a penny from that fund. NSA Troy claims that the fund collected for her help has been kept under the medical fund of the University. She wont get anything from that personally.
Is this fair? We have donated for her, not for Medical fund of the University. We would appreciate if she could get something from that fund for her temporary stay in Alabama till last appointment in hospital.
We pray for her quick recovery and wish her Get Well Soon!

The fund-raising for the Troy accident victims were all done in good faith by us. When there were nobody coming forward for noble cause to help the students we setup paypal account just to raise the fund for the victims. We never knew that that work done in good faith would raise such a controversies. We just provided the base as the fundraiser for the NSA, Troy and then the raised amount was transferred to the Nepalese Student Benefit Fund, Troy. Of all the amount, 2300$ was transferred through the check and 1247 $ was deposited personally to that account. After the fund being transferred, we have been in contact with NSA officials about the allocation of the fund, and we were informed that it was being done as per need basis. For further detail about the fund allocation you can directly contact NSA@troy.edu. We will continue our support to the needy Nepalese as we did this time in good faith.

When I first saw the fundraiser at www.staticnepal.com, I could not help it but to post the link here so that message could reach a broader mass. San dai put it as sticky note and the fundraiser took the pace. I have been good friends with staticnepal teams and know what they are. They don't need to do the cheap business as you all have doubted to make their living. They did all the things in good faith, and even they tried their best to look for charitable organization who could help Nirmala. All the time there was no Dhruba or whoever bringing the controversies. The staticnepal team tried their best without wanting anything in return. But if you can not thank for all what they did, at least don't point your fingers for some good works. This is just pathetic to see all the people pointing fingers and making controversies of good works. Use your mind before speaking. And get your facts straight.

i started the fundraising seeing that there were nobody comming forward to help...i tried contacting nepalese organization as alwez...and got the same reply as they dont want to be held responsible..nowonder i got that reply...i can see that happening....probably my reply as a person would be same from next time..and this is also a good note to all others who are eager to help...not discouraging but something to consider..people who came forward to help...i thank you a lot and hopefully you can do it better than me...all the best!!

as any fool can just make a educated guess...i am doing my part and am in touch with NSA and trying my best to get everything fixed and help Nirmala and all others...let me remind everyone of some other facts too who think that this fundraising was done for Nirmala alone..whole fundraising was done to everyone involved in the accident and to support NSA..it was NOT a independent fundraising by staticnepal to improve its service to people...Binod a very good friend lost his life in this..and his cremation was done at Troy..all the rituals and after rituals were also performed in help with people from NASEA..special thank to Suman Silwal dai for doing all that, you rock dai!!...Deepak another good friend was also part of the accident and there were 5 other people involved...considering the number of people..$3500 is nothing to be shouting about here...it wouldnt have made any difference in there condition...but still we did it and gave money to NSA troy who is still working to help these people...Nirmala's weekly therapy..hospital expenses are all part of the money...SHE STILL NEEDS MORE THAN 10K FOR A PROCEDURE AND EVERYBODY ARE JUST BUSY SAYING THIS AND THAT...ACTION AS DEMANDED BY OTHERS DONT EVEN EXIST IN THE HORIZON AS I SEE IT...SO PLEASE COME FORWARD AND HELP THAT GAL IF YALL CARE SO MUCH

i remember a joke...it had something there was this box full of frogs and with no cover..and people inquired and were told that it was from Nepal and it doesnt need lid to cover it coz they wont leave the box as each other were hanging on the legs of other..i guess this is the perfect eggample of it...i think i sud say no more..

So StaticNepal Team, I would like to request you to get in touch with the college, and explain them about the purpose of the fund raised, and that it should be given to the victims.

NSA Troy might have not known before, so they depositted the fun in the school fund. It might have been their mistake and they might not have known about all this confusion.

So we should all get together, and request the college administration to release the fund, if it has not been released.

cyberharke... i think you read nothng before you request things. It has been mentioned couple of times already that they are distributing the money. If you have specific questions about it...i suggest you "YOURSELF" contact NSA and find out..don't let other people do your work kya!! You want to know ..you do it. Besides...if other people do it...how do you know you can trust them or not. And stop whining ...
Do you what a funeral costs? do you know what any medical treatment costs? do you know how much a stay in hospital costs? If not do your own research before whining about this and that... Your approach of misleading and misinforming about Sagar was totally wrong way. After all this you come in here and say you didn't wanted violence. Just received a good news that Ms. Maria from Troy University has given $500.00 to Nirmala today.

Indeed - a good news!

Out of $500, $100 was refund for the money that was taken by Troy for Dhruba's stay at international center for 4 days. Chicagoland Nepali Pariwar will be opening a new fund-raising account for Nirmala's Help; may be from tomorrow.
