"... If more than 60 percent of students are failing the 10th grade test nationwide, then it is not the student’s fault. The system is at fault..."
"...Besides, when a young man fails SLC, it affects the entire family. This wicked system promotes nothing but pessimism, misgivings, and anguish..."
"...SLC testing system is so theoretical and result-oriented, that it invariably diminishes creativity and logic in young people..."
"...Just look at our generation. People are so political because they do not know anything else. Everything else requires reading, but politics more often than not is merely a judgment call...."
"...Our culture does not emphasize the importance of reading because our education system does not stress the ultimate goal of education—which is learning..."

- well thought-out, to the point editorial!!

Very well said. They should also make sports mandatory for everybody, that way, leading a healthy life (for everybody) is part of the daily routine. We definitely need a revolutionary change in our education system but thats not going to happen until we have a stable gov. If things were to change the way sum_off has planned out, things would be a lot different. Every child should have the right to go to school and the right to learn!!!! :|

.Could we learn anything from the educational systems of such nations as New Zealand? They seem to have a much more effective system than most Asian countries, and America.

There has been study done and recommendation made to theEducation Ministry regarding some changes to S.L.C. Suggestion was made to only include corses taken in the 10h grade. I think that was a good start.

Sumoff bro pani SLC ma fail bha ho hahaha

Anyways , lot of good point raised , liked it!
but here is the deal,As every coin as two sides.

Present infrastuctures(Colleges, jobs, family economy) of Nepal cannot handle if even 50% student pass SLC .So, i agree with your points but it has to be systematic than saying do away with SLC right now!

when we remove SLC , then i believe there will be more discriminations.Like for instance if Bagamati Anchal has their own set of standard than Mahakali .Clearly Bagamati is better now if some one passes 10 standard from Mahakali what are the chances that this guy will get into the higer college in Bagmati?

Now again you pointed out the colleges should have their own entrance standard .Even in Govt. colleges this kind of discrimiation starts then whats the point person who passes SLC from Mahakali . he will never get into college in Bagmati.

Hope you are getting my point.Again,Ya whole education system should be redefined ..

Probably ..teaching Prachandism and YCLism would help in Nepal .h- from our visionary maoist khate leaders of Nepal .everyone of them has PHD ..hahahaha..Naya Janbadi
sichya pranali
