How does it look for a Software Engineer with 4 years experience in C++ and 2 years in J2EE/Java development with struts, hibernate ??
What is the salary expectation and what is the best area in CA to move into where houses are affordable and at the same time is close to nice areas like San Francisco...Any help will be appreciated.

That was a good boi for someone trying to move to CA. However you will be surprised by the house prices if you are moving from a state where a house is still affordable. You could make as much as 90-110K with that bio but will not be able to afford a good 3-4 bedroom house in a decent city.

After living in Southern California for more than 10 years, I am planning to move out to some places line Austin where I can still see sun but can afford a house of 3200+ sq ft. Now, its your turn, i guess ! Have fun,

I heard San Diego is one of the best places to live but everything is too expensive here. If you like to party a lot and go places, then yeah its a great place w/ same "nice" weather all year long.

You should get all the info that you need. I would recommend Berkeley and San Fran....but you gotta pay the price too. So, check the site above and find what suits your needs the best.

south CA- plenty of jobs if you have 4-5 yrs of experience. IT industry pays pretty good. 75 - 90k depending on what you do. but if you want to buy a house... expect to shell out at least half a million for a 3 bedroom with a tiny backyard. hell, you can even buy a condominium for $400k (if you prefer that)!
