Heard news on radio this morning about a Russian mom who wanted to get some alimony money from her ex husband. She had to get DNA test of their daughter who was 12, in order to prove parenthood. The DNA test revealed that the ex husband was not the father. Even more shocking, the test revealed that she was not her mother either.
The baby was switched at birth. She had been raising someone elses child and her child was being raised by someone else! She contacted the police and they actually found her own daughter in 9 days. She had been raised in a farm.
In hospitals, the everyday work may feel mundane but a small mistake can have such a big impact. A simple thing as a wrong tag on a newborn can create such an unfortunate incident. It's like putting wrong address on an envelop, but the difference one makes versus the other is simply mindblowing.
What if you were switched at birth, and you suddenly have a new set of family that is supposed to be your real family?
What if you were raising someone else's child? Would you love the current one any less after you found out?
