Its sad that Nepali Movie Golden Age has gone long back. I still remember the movies like MAAN KO BAAND, KUMARI, SINDUR AND MORE. Those were the golden days of Nepalese golden age of movies highly supported by Nepal Chalchitra Sasthan. The music was superb and lyrics was close to litreature. I still think Naryan Gopal also associated him to good literature so the result was good. The topic was chosen from Nepal iteslf. Even that time technical side was great. If you remember Maitighar movie with Mala Sigha. The story content was so strong that would make a quality movie with choreographer coming from india. Then we had a phase of Santan, Samjhana, Jeevan Rekha, Basudev, Kusume Rumal and Lahure. Still the movie was great. I don't know then came this phase with Yug Dekhi Yug Samma.....................and it went bad. Even you count Rajesh Hamal the educated superstar of Nepal has countable good movies like Devta and few to name. I guess Tulshi Ghimire provided solid base story in recent days with Darpan Chaya, Due Kinara and more. I am looking forward for the Kusme Rumal Remake. Today, Nepalese movie is in state of 80's of India. Where the climax is same and story is all about revengae. The songs dont make a sense. I hope soon there will be revoultion in movie with story like aashiqui which changed indian movie today. We still need Farhan Akhtaar, Sudhir Mishra, Ashutowsh Garwarkar, Sanjay Leela Bansali and Raj Kumar Santoshi in Nepal to change the face of our movie industry. In today one director may have that potential those are Naryan puri and Daya Ram, Tulshi Ghimire and Daya Ram Dakhal but they dont want to take a risk.; Nepal once colabrated movie with pakistan and made movie like Hami ek Hau............i guess we need to collaborate with Bollywood to reach larger audience.

oh yeah i missed seema Rekha and Sainyo. They say they have movie called pheri arko sainyo............but i dont trust it even it is distributed and produced by my friend Mr. Naryan Puri. Last week i narrated my story called bhawana to Mr. Naryan Puri. He liked it and he send me the script writer. Hopefully, we can take it to floor by next year. If it happens it will be my directorial debut. The only problem is .........i want to make movie with budget of 80 lakhs but producer don't want to take a risk. The complete story is based on partial flash back and partial present. The story based on 3 friends anudan, Vikalapa and Dina. The story starts with her book Red Salute or Relations being best seller published by UK publishing house itself. She becomes celebrity and movie goes back to flash back with her interview. The story of flash back is based on 3 friends Anudan ( Suraj Singh Thakuri) son of army Major, Vikalapa( Bhupendra Chand, son of lokendra bahadur chand) son of school Teacher and Dina (Malvika Subba or Priyanka Karki) being daughter of British army. Anudan comes from good family and he is good looking with his soft spoken attitude, in other hand Vikalapa is one of the union leader in college and he is short of dada in college. The both like dina but Anudan somehow manage to win her heart. The story passes by and one day Vikalpa for party tend to kill oponent of other student union accidently. The whole incident is taken as big agenda and Vikalpa is not supported by party denying him as black sheep. He fled away for his life with help of DIna and Anudan to Gorkha. In one such gathering he comes across with Moaist leader and gets inspired. In other hand Vikalpa is forced by family to join Nepal army. Dina goes to UK to study journalism. The time passes by Vikapla comes out as Moaist area commander and Anudan becomes Captain of Nepal army. Dina completes her studies and works for BBC to make documentary on Moaist. She comes to Nepal to make documentary and meets her boyfriend Vikalpa as area commander. She cant express her feeling nor he can. In other hand Anudan is sent to same area as troop commander. well there is more to say ...............but i need to get my script short out well. If it happens the i wll have 1974 AD, Anil singh, Naveen bhattarai as Music directors. I will certainly love to have one song from sachin singh. I hope this movie goes to floor. This is my work so far

1. Paral ko Aago
2. Maaitighar
3. Numafung
4. Sindoor
5. Basudev
In my opinion, the movies listed above are very true too our culture, rest are all too commerical.

Moneyminded i enjoyed your plot but I have a suggestion for you. In the 2nd last scene can we have the following: The heroine is tied to the post. There are other posts with burning flames. Villians are laughing on the floor. There are some boxes and metal containers piled up to be unpiled later on in the last scene. The mother and father of the Hero are brought and tied up as well and the heroine breaks off into a melodious song. As the song is about to end after 9 and half minutes the glass window breaks when the hero makes an appearance on his motorbike. Make the sound of the breaking glass part of the song so that when people buy the soundtrack later on they remember the moment vividly.
If you need more suggestion let me know, and also premiere in the US when it's out.

Ratobahley dude, its a good suggestion but i don't think i can put that in my movie. Movie ending is very un expectable and i am trying to create a different genre of movie here. Your plot seems like typical nepali movie though i love to premiere in US, UK, HK and Aus first. After all it is publicity stunt.

moneyminded, screw suraj singh, bhupendra chand et. al. ...why don't you play the lead? the script suits you...especially with the ending like the one suggested by ratobhaley hahaha...afterall it's our 'filmi' culture to play the actor by the producer/director/script-writer/fight-master/dance-director and what not yeah and don't forget to do the first screening in US.

thanks for your overwhelming response to this thread, it was great to know that most of you liked the good movies of "koolihood" film industries. Naming some of the greatest movies of all times would be Basudev, Chino, Samjhana, Saino, Kanyadaan, Seema Rekha, Balidaan, PremPinda, KusumeRumal, Lahure, Kosheli, Jeewan Rekha, Maan ko Bandh, Darpaan Chaya and many more Though i have not watched movies made in ethnic language just like NUmafung, or SHilu, those movies represent the caste and culture of particular group of people. Great going because these movies do retain our cultures. Money, investment is not the factor that affects the popularity of films because Raako is/was the most expensive movie in Nepali abt 1.25 Crore , (abt 2.5 times what normal movies cost) and that failed to make even mere 50 laks, i guess, however, DarpanCHaya was made in abt 30 laks and made abt 3 crores.WHat do u think that matters the most in movies. Movies made on historical evidence, like Seema Rekha, Balidaan were great but could not make money, on the other side, movies that dont have a great story makes money??? What do u think makes a movie both popular and financially sound???? I like the resonse from Moneyminded, he delved into matter very deep, why dont you just try a project with teleserial to start off with, it is always good to have a good director and a creative story. Lets hope the nepali film industry comes with good movies in days to come, Keep on sharing your views................ (BTW i am a student and has nothing to do with movie industry, i only want that industry to grow. let us not feel ashamed to watch nepali movies, not only because we are getting modernized but also because of the acts and scenes in the movie.)
