Dear Sajha Friends, Nepalese people have seen days of nonsense kingship, corrupt multiparty system and violent maoist rule, but I am not sure whether they have ever experienced democracy in Nepal.

King is like appendix in our body....... we don't need it but we still have it, they r nothing but burden to peoples' hard earn money.
People fight and die for country, king takes all the honor for doing the least.

that's why there is surgery to remove appendix. no not another massacre.

Blame it to ALL to the King as if ALL the politicians who took the power from the king a longtime before the recent changes, has done nothin to the fall of our Nation. In some of you guys veiws .......KING is to blame for everything that has been done to the public. WOW these politicians are real great brainwashers I guess.............If king is the Appendix.....I think politicians and their brainwashed followers are the Cancer to Nepal.

Hi All:
It may sound very unreal, but late King Birendra was one of the worst King in the history of Nepal. I know, most people would not agree with me at first but please think seriously after you read my comments.

1. King Birendra was a drunkard always high on C2H5OH.
2. Eden, and Harvard educated King who accedes to the referendum but could not control his wife, brother and his cabal ,so even if multi-party system was the choice of the people , he reintroduced so called reformulated Panchayat system.
3. He did not do his full time job as a King , he was just a father of Dipendra, now I think he was not even a good father , otherwise he would not have any problem with Diprendra marrying Dibyani.
4. Nepal was not the corrupt country until 1980, but in order to finance the referendum
in favor of Panchayat regime, massive deforestation occured at that time peiod.
5. All profit mongers mades entered Nepal after they were Banished from Burma , started giving very expensive gifts to Queen Aishwarya and other royal family in exchange for profitable industry and trade licences.
6. In a nutshell, Late King Birendra was a henpecked, drunkard and an impotent King who contributed greatly for Nepal's deacceleration of political strengthening,and economic development.
It was kind of nice that he was assasinated so Gyne became King and with his own futile ambition Gyne helped in ending the monarchy. We should all be very thankful to Gyne because this interim Constitution would be not possible at least now without Gyne's myopic political moves.

Tribhuwas actually was busy in doing all good looking women at that time. He was caught in Places like Lukhnow and Beteia in places like Mujra and other parlors. He did not contribute. It was four martyrs who was hanged, shot by RANAS actually brought Democracy in Nepal. Tribhuwan ran away to India to save his sorry butt.

Mahendra was very ambitious from the very beginning. I am not totally against his move. Actually, Nepali Congress led by BP Koirala himself wanted to be another Rana totally ignoring Mahendra. BP himself was like RANAS in his daily life but ideologically he was a great leader. Mahendra actually established infra-structure in Nepal.

Now everything should work out in Nepal. Even Maoist are within the parliamentary framework. If they can not work it out this time, there is no hope for Nepal. It is better, in that case Nepal be a part of India rather than civil war and tiny independent states according to thei caste and region.
