KIRAN PANDAY
26 August was a red-letter day for Nepal's gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered (GLBT) community. Anil Mahaju, 32, (right) and Diya Mahaju, 21, both biological males, got married in the country's first public gay wedding. The marriage is not recognised legally.

The couple were dressed in traditional Hindu wedding clothes and though they didn't have a pundit to recite the vows, their methi friends (men who dress as women) sang celebratory songs. The couple exchanged rings and garlands, and kissed. The wedding was also attended by other friends, activists, and media.

Neither set of parents approve, but, Anil said, "We hope this will encourage others to come out of the closet and help change the way society perceives us." Anil is a photographer and field supervisor for the Blue Diamond Society that serves Nepal's GLBT community. Diya used to work for army intelligence.

Also in attendance was Comrade Prakash [name changed], a Maoist party cadre, who said, "There is not just day and night, but also dawn and dusk. Similarly, there aren't just heterosexual men and women."

Something I don't understand is, why does one person have to dress just like a woman? I would think, there is some psychological problem with that. If you like the other person of same sex, that's fine; but why do the person have to dress in a different way?

CAN YOU FUGGERS LEAVE THEM ALONE ?
AS HARD AS IT IS FOR THEM TO SURVIVE BEING GAY IN NEAPLI COMMUNITY.
THEY DON"T NEED YOUR POTTY MOUTH TO TELL THEM HOW TO LIVE THEIR LIFE OR WHAT THEY SHOULD AND SHOULD NOT WEAR IN THER WEDDING(would you like people from Sajha to coment on your FUGGING dress? IF NOT THEN SHUT THE FUG UP AND LEAVE THEM ALONE).

Reffering to Naake:

What ever their life style is and who ever thaty are, still they think marriage is part of culture between man and woman. And could not adopt any thing new.
So they could not think of something differrent as they were strong enough to expose and to srart a new history.

NayaSadak,
I agree with you.

Bathroom,
We are not after those people. I am also saying, they have right to do whatever they want. But my only question is, do they have any psychological disorder? Like Naya Sadak said, they still believe in Man-Woman relationship, because they dress in woman's clothes. If that's not right, then why not getting married in both man's dress, just like how they do in western countries?

dude, why are you so much worried about what clothes they are wearing to get married. If they don't have any problem, who the hell are we to talk about.. lets say for a sec that they have 'phychological disorder', i hope you or nobody using this sajha is going to marry them again right! you guys are cool... you got better things to post... try n leave them alone....

Naake states," We are not after those people.I am also saying, they have right to do whatever they want." Really !! then WHY THE FUG ARE YOU QUESTIONING THEM MORON !! The purpose of their marriage was not for assholes like you to come question their Psycological well being for wearing a red Sari for their wedding. They are not asking for your opinion. Just let them be and live their life the way they want.
