I think we Nepali have a trend just to criticize 'Dhoti' no matter what they do. We need to look at ourselves first, Nepalese, Pop, Rock, Hip Hop .......god!!!!!!!!!! I can't even watch a sec. Herda pani laaz lagcha.
Yes, Indians make copy out of Hollywood and we copy Indians. Who is worst?

u are right! it is a chain reaction. we do copy dhotis and as one of my western freinds pointed out that they have done a good job in westernizing the world. soon enough, every single indigenous language and culture will be endangered. guess this is how shit rolls!!

what they r doing in this movie has nothing to do with Nepal and Nepalese.they r free to make movies just as we r. This movie should not offend any Nepalese.

KAANTE = Reservoir Dogs.
ANTH = Hard Target and so on.
It is okay to copy but even the the dialogues are spoken in foriegn language. These days almost every Indian movie dialogues are in english and I wonder sometimes how could an Indian living in slums could comprehend such movies!
Just a thought and Sajha is such a place to do so. That is all!!!!!

Just to let you know unicornis, India has probably more people, who can understand and speak english, than England and America combined, so you figure it out who watches those movies.

Thanks for enlightening me. I did not know India has 1.1 billion people and most of them speak english. In other words, u are saying is indian cinemas should have complete dialouges in english as most understand. Forget about 30% of that 1 billion who lives under poverty.
To others, no matter how much India brags about their dev. poverty is their chronic problem and will require a long time to fix it.

Amazing. I can't see how it affects us even remotely to make it a point of discussion whether they copy their story as well as plots from Hollywood movies. They r poor or rich...its none of our business.
Personally, I wish our own Nepali film industry was developed. Now that's something that affects us.
My understanding of India is, politics aside, seriously.....they have some 40 % of the population under the poverty line ( Mostly in Bihar and UP)...we tend to make this judgement by looking at these prople on the streets of KTM selling fruits and veg. But the middle class and upper middle class which is a small fraction..but in numbers yet as big as many other countries...is way too smart to think on topics we discuss. They get good salary, have high standard of living, and are well educated. They speak and understand English as well as there own l;anguage. I have seen many families whose medium of communication is 80 % English.
I wish we can ;learn from the economic, cultural, and social development of the booming middleclass and make our society prosperous. True, there are a lot of poor people living in slums, but they are expanding in the world bcoz of there middle class and upper middle class.

prabhat bro,
as other threads, this thread is just for the sake of discussion. however, India's poverty stricken people have indeed posed a problem for Nepal. as u said, most poor states of India share boder with Nepal and what do we get as immigrants. yes, bhikaris in the streets of Nepal cities.
I am the one who said in Sajha that Indians are more prepared than us because they have better english or 70% of their young generation speak english. They don't have to struggle like most Nepalese do. But some people vehemently protested against this saying they have better gre scores than indians. Just a few handfuls.
I have travelled and lived in big cities of India. If you go to Mumbai, slums decorate the outskirts of this metropolitan and this is the scenario in every big Indian city.
My point is many Indian movies depicts or copies hollywood movies but woudl be much better if they could at least respect the 40% population. Films like SATYA truly potrays real life.
And I just wish some directors and producers of Kollywood (Nepal) would make historical movies instead of simply copying cheap Indian movies.

Unicornis bro,
I was just giving my opinion in a fair and honest way.You are totally right and at the same time u r entitled to have your view as anybody else.
As far as the GRE score issue goes, thats a no brainer and one should not waste any energy or time in those kind of comments.
What I have seen in your posts, I can clearly know that u r a very qualified person. I just wanna request all the educated people to have a clear mind, an unbiased view about any issue, and channelize the talent in the most productive direction which benefits not only u as a person but ur surroundings too.
I am tired of this excuse of India bashing on any issue. I am tired of people refusing to look within. We got to introspect. We have problems with India politics, not India as a country.
Lets forget politics. lets just see the economic and social impact of India. Can we learn few things? If anyone says Its bcoz of British rule they ended up being what they are, I can only laugh at the ignorance. When Britishers left, Bihar was one of the richest and most prosperous state, look where is Bihar today.
They have made huge economic progress, they have sustained democratic system and have become a major voice in international politco-economical forum. Don't we wish Nepal had same or better standing in the International stage. We totally depend on foreign aid for our budget, our politics is controlled by India and foreign powers, our entertainment industry is not in a good state, tourism has nose dived....can we count...
There are things we can learn...we can be more self dependent, we can have a stable political system, we can have big investments, we can have strong army, we can have respect for all cultures, language and community yet have one national language.
Its about time we can fix ourselves before finding any mistake in others.
By the way I loved Reservoir dogs. But tell u what Kaante was stupendous. One of the most stylish, well shot and high performance act movies I have ever seen. Snjay Dutt was just terrific. Its okay to copy, as long as the copy looks good and as long as u don't claim its original,as long as it entertains.
Unicornis bro, I believe in having a debate where mutual respect is always in tact. I totally respect ur views just had little bit different opinion.
By the way I am proud of ur qualifications....best of luck with everything u do.
I just believe it's important to find good things out of anything.

Thanks Prabhat bro,
Thanks for ur comments. For most of us, Sajha has been a place to pour your inner feeling on any subjects. Several Indian movies became blockbusters by imitating hollywood and some sucks as u pointed out for R.Dogs. But KAANTE was super duper hit in India.
For Nepal' dependency on India, unless we have corrupt free environment, this will go on.
Again, appreciate ur comments.
Enjoy.

Plus Indian's big landmass and population has lot to contribute to their recent economic boom and now they are the fourth in the world. But as I said, they will have to cure the disease called poverty.
