When I turn on my desktop PC I get this message:'Disk Boot Failure, Please Insert System Disk and Press Enter'.
I have a Sony VAIO, and asbout three+1/2 years old.
I took my harddrive to Circuit City, they said there is nothing wrong with harddrive BUT PROBLEM WITH SIOFTWARE, what Software Guys?
I WILL APPRECIATE ADVISE, THANKS and HAPPY DASSAIN TO ALL SAJHAITES!!!

Disk Boot Failure shows up when there is something wrong with the operating system may be table allocation files get corrupt or might be anything.
There are number of steps that you can perform even tough format will erase all of your data but this might be a gud solution for your computer to work properly.... you might need a XP bootup CD or bootup disk.
Toget to DOS you need to either use Recovery Console off the Winxp CD or a windows 98 Boot disk.
You could always try a "chkdsk" in the recovery console if you want to try and keep the documents there on the disk. The file allocation table could be corrupt.

Please help me too,
I am trying to load window xp on Dell insprion 5150, it does not let me finish downloading xp , dumps me every time trying with different xp cds.
It does not have floppy drive and I am thinking of reformatting the hard drive with window 98 which may helep to correct the currupt hard drive. Give me ideas to down load window 98 ??? I copied the 98 set up in cd and flash drive too, it did not work.
