Hired criminals did it, say rights activists

Kathmandu, March 22:

Rights activists and civil society members, who visited Gaur today, said people were killed in cold blood in Gaur by criminals hired from outside.
Dr Mathura Shrestha, a rights activist and member of the civil society, termed the killings “inhumane and unimaginable.”
He claimed that the killers were trained professionals hired from outside.
“The heads of the dead were found to have been smashed by bamboo batons,” he told the press. He said six of the 28 dead were the Tarai people while the rest were the hill people.
Dr Gauri Shankar Lal, another member of the team, said the 28 people were killed in cold blood.
“Locals found that women were first raped and their breasts hacked off during the killing spree.”
According to Subodh Pokharel, over 12 people were chased six kilometres from the incident site and slain.
“The slayers dragged the people out from where they were hiding and killed them brutally,” he said.
He also said the number of the dead may rise. “Some of the bodies are reportedly thrown inside conduits,” he said.
He said an injured was beaten up on the premises of a hospital when he disclosed that he held from Makwanpur. “We were told the slayers tried to burn 10 bodies on the road. Police recovered the bodies,” he said.
He also informed that two YCL members were found carrying pistols with them, but it has not yet been established who opened fire first.
Dr Arjun Karki said the incident could have been averted if the local administration had been attentive. “The locals knew the incident was going to happen but the administration paid no heed to it.”
According to him, the SSP tried to contact the chief district officer after the clash, but the latter was unavailable.

Maoists have killed thousands of innocent Nepalese in worse manners. This is peanuts compared to what maoists have done. Just because you post the same message 20 times does not mean that this act is more heinous than Maoist actions.

Ratobhaley did you hear me say I was ok with Maoists attrocitis. I know its not ok but if you keep comparing everything with what maoist has done in 11 years then how many of this peanut incident do you need before you condemn this act.
My reason to post the message 20 times is so the people like you to start thinking what is happening right now. Just cause the situation is of the size of a peanut to you does not means it not grave, remember even maoist start was of peanut size. And also you maybe ok with it but the message was not just meant for you, but for all Sajha readers.

It was not only 11 years ago that Maoists were involved in killing innocent people. Even last year they were doing it. Right now they are in the government but still they are beating innocent people who have opposed them in any way.

I think it's about time someone stood up against them.

Ratobahaley did you read what happened in Gaur. Read and then reread again and tell me you are ok with what happened. If so I have nothing to say to you, because you have your opinion and I have mine.
Another thing these MJF bastards killed and raped these people because they were Nepali from Makwanpur, remember that when reading this article again.

Also make sure of the point that these people who killed the maoist came from across the border to do so. If you are ok with that today then tomorrow these people would come across the border to you house, some where in Nepal, and kill your family because you did not support them. Remember that.

I am not supporting maoist, nor am I saying that what they are doing is ok, but as for you, you are ok with someone from another country to come solve your own problem by killing your own people instead of Nepali people themselves confronting them.

I am not here to justify for Maoist, nor do they have any justification for what they have done in Nepal. All I am saying is why is it that AntiSPAM wants Nepali people to forget what happened in Gaur today. If his justification is that maoist started it, and its ok for people across the border to come to Nepal and kill them, then one day AntiSPAM is going to find out that these people are also allowed to go any where in Nepal and kill the any one they please until their needs are satisfied.

You however being a MJF cadre may need to come in Sajha and find the need to blame everything on Maoist and everyone else except your MJF cadres, but as far as I am concern you are just another anti-Nepali instead of AntiSPAM.

As far as Gaur incident is concerned, it was avoidable but maoist were urging for the brawl as the news reflect and What can I say about our Home Ministry? I t is doing its best to restore peace and order haha.
