just want your view about which state is better to raise kids and have family? Virginia, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York or Colorado?

 Depends what you want your kid to become. :-). I am just kidding, but personally I think this is a stupid question for a nepali to ask.

What about Massachusetts (Boston)? I don't know how life in Virgina is. But, New York obviously isnot a better choice.

The best place for Nepali is always TEXAS.
 Cheap colleges, Easy to find job.
Work in Gas station and high chance of making a lot of money.
Can easily afford Cars.
Nice weather don't have to worry about snow .
Hot place so can drink alot of cold beers.
So, why not TEXAS???And you know what Everything is big in Texas.

Who ever answers this question must be a person who has kids. Where you live counts to your children and it is not like Nepal you pay from you wallet and can send any school you like. It must be either charter school or school in your town. 

Big city are not good to raise children it must be a adjoining town.  As someone mentioned about Boston, but I will suggest Newton.
If your children fail in math or science they will put you in different class and geuss what the child will have less chance to imporve.

First you need to find out where you will find a job and then thin of that state and the town with best education system.

You will feel homely, plenty of nepalese around there. There is also nepalese owned and run groceries, restaurant, temples, wineries, gift stores, etc. You may find strangers guessing you as a nepalese before guessing a latino or indian.

There is a school where nepalese count as the largest number of non-english-native speakers. If you have talented kid, you can get your kid enrolled in one of the nation's best school. Even if you can't get your kid into specialty program, you don't need to worry about education. MD stands at number 1 in the nationwide education ranking. (I am not sure what this #1 ranking means, I heard it in NPR a few days ago).

You can find blue collar works ranging from gas station, subways to shopping mall and beyond, and all kinds of white collar works based on your skills.

Much better is the parties and gatherings, where your wife (or yourself, if you are a woman) can put on plenty of jeweleries and display how gorgeous she looks on Asian outfit. You will easily get offered beers/wines/whiskey for listening political guff-gaaff in parties and gatherings. Nepalese love these stuffs the best. I surely enjoy it.

I'd highly recommend Mid-West too. States like Wisconsin, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska are "safer", and relatively cheaper. In fact, If I had to choose between states in/around New England and Midwest, Midwest would get my nod everytime.

Texas is arguably the best though. Not sure about how safe it is.

 When u talk about how safe the state of Texas is  u can google and check the FBI's most dangerous cities in the USA.
when I check the 100  most dangerous cities of the USA I found Texarkana, Texas is in 56th rank. Houston Texas is in 91st  and Dallas Texas and Austin Texas are not in top 100.
When u talk about how safe the state is I think u shouldnt generalize whole state coz everystate has good and bad cities.And U know that Texas is second biggest state. so definetly some cities are good and some are bad.
