Since a lot of nepali parties are scheduled on Monday- I would like to get your take on it. Is Monday a personal preference to all or does it bother a lot of people? Looking to organize a great summer party so please let me know if there is a better day than Monday. If yes, then we will make it happen..keep checking :)

Most of the businesses where lot of Nepalis work (mostly restaurants) are closed on Tuesdays, therefore, it is logical to have parties on Monday night.

Sure, it does not match the schedule of students and office workers.  But most of them don't show up in Nepali parties anyway.  I have heard from not one, not two, but many so called "white collar" Nepali workers that they proactively avoid Nepali gatherings.  They have their reasons, who am I to judge.

So, yes, it does make sense to have Nepali parties on Monday nights.

Any restaurant (esp. that serves alcohol) have their peak revenue days on Saturday and Friday while Monday is the slowest day. If the Nepali party organizers were to book such restaurants for Friday or Saturday, they will have to pay premium rental charge and the converse is also true. Assuming the intended cover charge is constant, the organizers try to maximize profit ( = revenue - organizing cost) by conducting the parties on Monday.

Parties are about having fun and not about saving money. I think the organizers need to muster some courage and pay premium rental charge for Saturday and make the attending patrons pay premium cover-charge in turn. Trust me, conducting weekend parties will get a revenue boost because of more number of able attendees from various backgrounds.

definitely parties are organized so dat people could interact wit other nepalese living in and around and also enjoy the parties. But the organizers have to look at all aspects of it too. Some people prefer some day of the week while others prefer other. And I know it is a tradition that all nepalese parties are held on Monday night for the very reason that a lot of people do not work on Tuesday. The organizers would love to organize parties on weekends but in response to that I wonder how many people will actually show up. Now after all the hard work by the organizers would they really want the party with a handful of ppl or would they rather do it on a weekday and have more people there, right? Weekend is not a problem and definitely spending money isn't but is that all worth?
