Does anybody know what went wrong with my music players It says "Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There might not be a sound device installed on your computer, it might be in use by another program, or it might not be functioning properly." and its the same thing if i try with other players... counting on you guys for help thanxx.

Please try Following these steps: 1. Click Start - Settings, click Control Panel, click Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices, and then click Sounds and Audio Devices 2. Click the Audio tab, and then click the Advanced button under Sound Playback. 3. Click the Performance tab, and then move the Hardware acceleration slider to a notch closer to None. 4. Click OK, and then click OK again. 5. Click Yes if you are prompted to restart your computer.

ok .... to go into the core of the problem first u need to analyse what may be wrong. So first check 1 speakers 2 the driver 3 the sound card if all of them r okey then ask some computer guy to come over there n fix it. Ask a fren who knows computer...EASY

You need to re-install the driver, first delete from the hardware Device Manager under Sound, Video and Game Controllers, and re-start your computer, if you are running Windows XP, it should fix the problem.

and also I see that you have a "other device", click on to multimedia Audio controller and hit delete then OK... After ure done deleting everythng restart ure system. Once it get restarted, it will tell u "new device found" and will install the driver by itself.. if ure OS is unable to determine the driver for ure device (soundcard) u will need to search for the CD's that came with ure system if not the u will have to open the CPU, look for which sound card is it and search for the driver online.
