This thread is a little bit overstated. I dont know who gives a damn about where you did your schooling once you are in the actual professional field. It would be a different thing if the schools that you are talking about are something that will pave your way to Ivy Leagues..or something that wud set you aside from others. Tyastai ho bros..kathmadaun ma aangreji patar patar bolnelai nai janne bujne manincha,,kind of suks,,
Anyways by the way st. xavier's school used to be one of the cheapest (affordable) schools back in days (compared to other schools like galaxy, little angels...some of them even required hefty donations to get into,,dont know why). Dont know what's the situation right now though..

It does not matter whether you went to Princeton or Idaho State, both are almost same. The only thing that matter is final product and how much money you can make in the long run. Both deserve equal respect. But sadly this is not reality. Peace.

The success of any school is determined by what percentage of it's product has attained later advanced degrees, professional achievements, distinguished citizenship, or similar achievements. Never forget that Xaviers, Rato Bangla or Budhanilkantha receive the best of applicants who are naturally bright, motivated and most socially-privileged. However, that does not mean a former student from one of the aforementioned school can always prove himself/herself better than each of you in every aspect of life whether it's now or later.

high ranks of a society are always in highrank.so these schools are only for those who have both name and fame and they believe on power, prestige and property.the dwellers of mahakali can have rare opportunity to see ten thousand rupees at a time which is one month fee for rato bangala.. poor is always poor....

bhoot bangla is just crap. i heard they made nepali students in lower classes to learn the hindi national anthem and made them sing it every single day. anyways bhoot bangla is way more expensive than other colleges if u wanna study a levels. dosent matter though coz theres a college ofering a levels in every galli in ktm. but i say ity again budanilkantha rules all the way to the top.

It's kind of a hype that products of these so called "great" schools are always good.Well my xavier's experience has been a bit different. The kids get in there when they are really young,,most of them in grade 1, when it's kind of hard to tell who is smart, hardworking and who is not..and a few more gets in at grade 6 in jawalakhel.(.It was the way back then,,dont know how it is these days that it is a not a perfect boka school paradise anymore). The guys who were on top of the class in academics early on did not end up like that by the time we hit SLC,,and of course the crap in SLC did not mean a thing when we faced ISc stuff. and so on..So it would be a bit too overstated to say that these schools take in only the best,,specially as kids can shape themselves up in any way tough or easy,,depending on the environment,. No doubt that many of the kids who get in there are from elite class..well ..(i was not one of them)
Anyways I myself was a mediocre in most of the stuff,,but the days at school are still the best days of my life,,Never really struggled to get the best things,,but well now when I look back at the things it's a waste trying to judge a person based on some elementary school that he attended..But tyai ho,,nepal remains nepal.. People still think that it is better to be able to show off driving a (dont know what's the latest car..) in the crowded street than to do something to make someone else's life better.

Guys, I studied with Xavierians, st mary’sian, galaxian and so on and as well as people who were in SLC top ten, and plus two merit list wala. End of the day I out done them, I topped the class, got scholarship to study abroad. So, if you think you are down, they will further force you down, if you think you can be up you will rise eventually.
They are only good in english for sometime, you are better in all dept.
Btw, I am from one of those gaunko nepali school.
SO I would say, do not feel humiliated just because you are not born in KTM or had that kind of opportunity.

KathCAT,
There is no doubt about your intelligence that you were able to rank first in
the class and awarded with the scholarship for your further studies.
There is no reason to get debased for not studying in the eminent schools like
Xavier's, Budalinkantha and so on. However, I personally think that we need to
learn more than just the contents of books. A good citizen should be ready to
unravel any trammels he/she may encounter in his life. In our life we might
come up with the problem where our knowledge from the book makes no sense.
Therefore, we need to have knowledge in broad sectors to think critically,
analyzing the problem and solving it. St. Xavier's, Budalinkantha ,etc. provide enough skills to horn student's
potentiality in academic as well as non-academic field. I still remember that
when I was in Xavier's one of our Father told us in our very first day of the
class "if you are here just to study and score distinction then you are in
the wrong place".
Sarkozy,
did you say students
from Budalinkantha, St. Xavier's abscond from Nepal? Instead of making this lame
speculation, would you mind looking at yourself first? I am supposing you are
somewhere in alienated land too, most probably working or studying. I would
love to hear my dear friend Sarkozy’s contributions, or you haven't pestered to
do that yet? Certainly, you might have remitted thousands of dollars to Nepal.
“Dedicated to excellence, social service and leadership†is
what Xavier’s motto, not “study hard and score distinctionâ€. That makes Xavier the best among the prestigious ones than other myriad schools mushrooming in Kathmandu.
Thank you gentlemen,
