Copa America kicks off from tonight. I don’t know if anybody remembers, Brazil left Argentina heartbroken with Adriano’s last second goal in the previous championship. Argentina is fielding its strongest squad with the likes of Crespo, Messi and Tevez while Brazil will be fighting to defend its crown without Ronaldhino and Kaka. USA, who is just coming out of joyful Gold Cup victory, will compete with Argentina on Thursday without any of its star players. Bob Bradley has yet to lose the game since he took over USA’s job. Mexico gets the second chance to shine after its disappointing Gold Cup performance. Uruguay, Chile, Ecuador, Venezuela, Paraguay, Bolivia, Costa Rica are all coming to the battle zone with their strong squads. There will be some electrifying South American Football for next few weeks. Go Argentina!!

Argentina has the best squad over the number of years! Riquelme, Aimar, Messi, Veron are all in the squad and so are Saviola, Tevez and Crespo up front! Ayala holds the fort at the back while the likes of Palacio and Milito will offer more up front! NOTHING's gonna stop Argentina albeit the ill luck! ARGENTINAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CC, I'm not balbahadur and I forgot the Saviola got ignored due to his lack of matches for Barca in the latter part! And what on earth do you mean by Aimar and Tevez will be benched? This isn't a friendly FYI. This is a tourney and we should see Tevez starting with Crespo up front and Aimar in the midfield as the team progresses!

Depending on the trainings so far, the most probable starting line up will be :: GK: Abbondanzieri (Getafe-ESP); DF: Zanetti (Inter-ITA), Ayala (Villarreal-ESP), Milito (Zaragoza-ESP), Heinze (Manchester United-ENG); MF: Verón (Estudiantes), Mascherano (Liverpool-ENG), Cambiasso (Inter-ITA); AMF: Riquelme (Villarreal-ESP); FW: Messi (FC Barcelona-ESP); Crespo (Inter-ITA)

Nope! Veron in the starting XI ahead of the likes of Aimar, Gago , and that too without a winger?!?! I DON'T think so! Abondanzzieri Zanetti Ayala Milito Heinze Messi Aimar/Riquelme Gago/Mascherano/Cambiasso Gago/Gonzalez Crespo Tevez/Palacio/Milito I can see that your starting lineup is based upon the the past performances and the legacy that Veron and Riquelme left but I don't think Messi is gonna start as a center forward and Basile experimenting with Messi in the middle gives an impression that we can see Messi Alongwith Aimar/Riquelme or even veron in the middle but and if Basile continues to stick with his formation that he used in recept friendlies then Gago and Cambiasso will start in place of Mascherano ( best young defensive mid in the world ) and Gonzalez! And Tevez not starting is going to be a shocker and I shouldn't be surprised to see Tevez alongside Crespo up front unless Basile decides to go with untraditional Argentine lineup i.e. 4-5-1 !!!

I dunno why Veron is called back, I wish Aimar had more of a fair shot into the starting lineup, previously it was Veron and now Riquelme patrols the middle and Aimar is always the odd man out. Because they have so many talented someone's gonna have to sit out and maybe that explains Tevez's bench time, but i wish it was crespo/tevez up front, messi on the wing riquelme in the middle....but it's gonna be a whitewash, esp with US sending their B squad to the tournament, I hope they get trashed big time.

Balbhadra, The lineup I said is almost fixed.Basile is a connfused guy. He isnt clear about how he should use Messi. Before Riquelme arrived, he was thinking Messi to be used as a playmaker. But since Riquelme has arrived, messi should play as a forward with Crespo , and Tevez should be benched. Moreover, Basile doesnt want to rely on a single playmaker. So he is using Veron with riquelme. Veron will play a little behind Riquelme, and veron can play as a defensive midfielder if he has too. But Aimar is only an attacking playmaker. So Basile has chosen Veron. Blazil plays with Mexico in the evening today.

CC, the authority in which you're saying that the lineup is almost fixed makes me feel like you're Basile's assistant! Lets wait and watch!

Based on the early reports, Tevez will not be in the starting line up for tomorrow’s match. USA’s experimental ‘B’ team vs. Argentina’s best team sounds like a clash between a lion and a mouse, absolutely no comparison. But USA did embarrass Argentina in ‘95 Copa America with 3-0 victory. The Argentina squad is arguably the best line up in the world right now with so many veterans and star players that even Tevez has to sit on the bench and wait for his opportunity. As talented as Aimar may be for his club, he has never been able to live up to his expectation for his national team. I am surprised that he even gets picked for his country consistently. With their entire arsenal in hand, anything less than the Copa championship would be a huge embarrassment for Argentina. I hope that they don’t to face that humiliation.

Brazil team has turned into an absolute shite! Their downfall started back in the World Cup when their attack looked toothless and the midfield looked wayward! It's gonna be interesting how ARGENTINA is gonna thump the U.S. team!
