At a time when political parties fail to draw flies and resort to threat from Maoists for public participation in demonstrations, the King's surprise visit to Dharan was welcomed with much enthusiasm. Just look at the video, which starts from a few bewildered spectators slowly but surely giving way to a much much louder crowdm, who go on to chant slogans like Long live the King spontaneously. You can see the King itneracting with the people on the streets and it shows just how much respect he commands in Nepalese community.

Bhoonte jee, thanks for the link.

In the video, I was surprised by the respect shown to him by people from all walks of life. And the self-initiated cries of welcome were simply unbelievable.

But I do not understand why the King is taking this much risk to his personal safety. Just walking on the main road is not a very smart thing to do at present from security point of view but he did it nonetheless.

Girl's remains found a year after soldiers took her away
BY MADHAV DHUNGEL
DHADING, Jan 15 - At midnight of July 15, 2004, someone knocked on the door of Bhairav Bahadur Sapkota's house in Chapagoan, Jeewanpur-1, Dhading. The 71-year-old man recalls, "Someone asked whether my surname was Sapkota. Then he said they were army personnel and asked me to open the door."

As soon as the old man opened the door, an arm was locked around his neck and someone charged, "You hide your son and present yourself to us?"
Bhairav's youngest son was fast asleep. Army personnel inquired about him. Bhairav identified him. "You sleep peacefully after helping your elder brother escape? Come here," one of them shouted.
Bhairav's eldest son Bhakta Bahadur lives in another house. His middle son Shiva, 27, disappeared after being arrested by security personnel from his rented room in Kirtipur on November 5, 2003. Bhairav and Bhakta Bahadur were there when Shiva was taken away. Someone called Tara dai asked them to call cell number - 9851051428 - the following day. Shiva's whereabouts is still unknown.
Remembering that incident, Bhairav feared that they would take his youngest son as well. "You took my middle son. It has been nine months and I still don't know if he's alive. Will you kill this son as well? If you want to kill him, kill him here," Bhairav demanded.
Instead, the army men went toward a cot where Bhairav's two grand-daughters were sleeping. One of them was Bhakta Bahadur's daughter Sarala. Sarala, 15, was spending the night at her grandparents' house because it was too late by the time she finished her work in the field to return home.
"They pulled the quilt covering her and asked her if her name was Sarala," the old man recalls. "She was so scared that she was speechless. Even I didn't know that her name was Sarala. I used to address her with her pet names Kali and Sani. I told security personnel that she was not Sarala. I only learnt later that she was called Sarala at school."
It was clear that they were taking her with them. Her grandmother and cousin wept and protested, but the soldiers tied Sarala's hands and took her with them saying that they would inform the family in a few days.
The family was never informed.

Bhairav believes the soldiers must have come from Baireni barracks. The family inquired at the barracks, but in vain.

That same night, at 1:30 a.m., a few men had knocked at Hom Bahadur Rana's house in the village and asked for spades. There were over a dozen girls in the house who had gathered to celebrate the festival of Shrawan Sankranti the next day. Fearing for their safety, Rana threw out a spade from the window.

Four days later, Rana learnt that soldiers had taken Sarala from Bhairav Sapkota's house. He also heard that there was a strong smell of decomposing human flesh in a nearby field. Out of fear, he kept quiet.

On July 26, 2004, the family registered a complaint at the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC). Sarala's father himself was arrested on March 30, 2005, and released after 52 days, following a court order. After his release, Bhakta Bahadur decided to expedite the search for Sarala. The widower, who has a 10-year-old son and another daughter aged 12, also filed a complaint at the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

On December 7, 2005, Bhakta Bahadur came to know of the odor of decomposing human flesh in the nearby field. He went to the field to see if he could find anything. The odor was there, but he couldn't trace the source.

On December 22, two men from ICRC arrived in Jeewanpur. Bhakta Bahadur told them about the smell. The ICRC team went to the field with the villagers. Sear a thorny bush, they saw a place where grass did not grow. When the villagers dug under the spot they recovered the skeletal human remains of Sarala, distinguishable only by her clothes.

On January 11, an NHRC team arrived with Dr Pramod Shrestha and Dr Harihar Osti, both from TUTH's Forensic Department. The remains has been brought to TUTH.
While the team exhumed Sarala's body, a large crowd gathered on the field. Bhairav Bahadur was sitting 40 meters away from the place where his granddaughter was buried. "This is the rule of demons. If humans were ruling us, this sin would not have been committed," he said.

The corpse was wrapped in a kurta-sulwar. Bhakta Bahadur identified the clothes, and a pair of slippers as belonging to his daughter. He even identified the teeth and the rubber band that tied her hair.

Villagers say that though Sarala had attended Maoist programs a couple of times, she was not a Maoist. According to Prakash Pandit, teacher at Jyoti Secondary School, she left school after failing in the seventh grade. Her teachers remember her as a polite girl. Keshav Prasad Acharya, another teacher, said that he was sure this sin was committed by Royal Nepalese Army (RNA) soldiers.

Children have stopped going to the field. Saraswati Pandey, 11, says that she used to go to the field with her friends to play. "Now I am scared. I won't go there," she said.
Dhan Kumari Regmi, 70, said the incident is like a nightmare. "The sinner has to suffer a lot more than what Sarala suffered," she cursed.

I watched the video and was impressed, indeed. Now I have the feeling that the king is trying to resolve the crisis.

Hi 8-)
What is in the video to show that he will solve the crisis? It's all a natak--a farce orchestrated.

He is going to the people and the people are coming to him. I am very impressed by his approach. He is holding hands of the people, going down to their level to listen to them, and reaching out I have not seen or heard this in Nepal. After seeing the video, I am more confident towards the king now.

i am surprised!!!!!!!

we still dont have consciousness to distinguish what is reality and what is illusion.
man, this is the tragedy.
after all this...............
tomorrow, every political leaders will act in the similar way and we will be changing our directions too.

and i will still be surprised.

after hardcore explicit split, when my ex- so called girlfriend smiled upon our encounter last night, i felt she was still in love with me.
we will never change in this human drama.......
untill we wake up, untill we get conscious.

the video is not different, to me, than any other add or campaigns movies.
we have to be aware on what our eyes behold and what our ears ore told. it can just be illusion or it just might be reality. and we cannot miss the opportunity to distinguish it.

We have to understand the SYSTEM established how to rule the people of Nepal since the time of Rana oligargy. This system was some how apparently absent during the peroid of Democarcy when the king Birendra gave freedom to Nepalese people to rule themselves. Unfortunately the freedom to rule themselves through parliamentary system was foiled not the people did not try, nor the politicians tried with their best ability. But the underlying SYSTEM as a matter of fact created obstructions for people to rule themselves. Now the drama is on. It is upto you how you see and the seeing will shape the future. The consequence- Nepalese people will remain unskilled human resources in the global economy with poor education, training and work skills.

What sustains Nepal even in this timse of trouble economically? The remitances - the money sent to our family from abroad by hard working yet unskilled Nepalis. I remember during the SYSTEM before 1990 I had to find the minister ora member of rastriya panchayet to get my passport! Forget about distributing passport to villages and districts of remote Nepal.

There people in power in RNA, police, government, cooporation, business are conditioned, in other word brainwashed only in SYSTEM established by king Mahendra and king G make their and their families lives happy and secure. king G can spell his magic on anyone. Those who do not regard his SYSTEM work including international communities he will not give his heed but if found opportunity he wouldnot step back ......... This a live historical moment before us... we have observed and we will observe in days to come.... This what we Nepali can do.

Dear bro sajhabusaima, I hope such a day will come in as the fortune of Nepali people. As a matter of fact the world is waiting for it... all international communities except China and Pakistan.... But we must not undermine the SYSTEM of king G, the ruling methodology established by king M that has brain washed many individuals and families in Nepal who are in the power to govern Nepal. They may be in low percent but they are now in core of king G's SYSTEM. We Nepali people are unfortunate, especially those who are deprived and those who have little and they are the majority.

However, the SYSTEM and king G has not realized how human resources are important for a country to become prosperious and happy with human lives that we have one chance to live on this earth. This humen resources need education, training and skills from the working opportunies. Without uplifting human resources no country can come out of the poverty. This fact was never regarded as important in Rana oligargy nor in SYSTEM of king M and will never be in the SYSTEM of king G. Even this the truth for the county it will not let this happen???

King's Suprised Visit Video clearly shows how much Nepali People still love and care King. There is no doubt King is popular among Nepali.
About Political Parties:- They need to clean themselves before saying something against King. All this suitations in Nepal were created by those political leaders who knows only two things 'Kurchi' and 'Paisa'.
Have you ever seen any political leaders got this kinds of respect from Nepali...?
Ask yourself..

Ma Ta Nepali------------ This how you are brain washed by king G either you or family has power from him or you are some how paid... you must be in his network. Do not lie us imposing questions before us.

Politicians are the statesmen and they are respect all over the world not with false propaganda like your king G. Mahatma Gadhi, BP Koiral, Manmohan Adhikari are the examples of statesmen respected no noly in the county but also in the world. King Tribhuvan and King Birendra were the kings and stetesmen who are respected among the people. Those who killed them are not heartfully respected even though they were in power. You can built a house but if you fail to manage it democractically you are not statesman that you deserver respect from the family. With gun and propaganda you can unite the nation and exelarate the petrotism but the history will tell you what you are like in days to come.

What to regard of king G who have failed to unite the political differences that exist live before him? With the power of army and guns you can unite political power. The respectable are those who can manage the differences and unite the mankind with their basic human rights. king G like tribesmen where there many and still they are many in primitive countries like ours..... look in Africa .....

> ..you must be in his network. Do not lie us imposing questions before us.

It is unfortunate how we label people who disagree.

I see another sajahtie saying "केहि हिजडा हरु.." etc.

I have seen enough and heard enough of the party rants.

This video has given me hope which I did not have.
