i finally realized why they called it the daymn "windy city." . i was shivering with the wind...... .
should have heeded advices ...
but as always i was that stubborn person dressed in plain cotton shirt and pant.

i had to kill that weekend. there was nothing to do. so i trolled to this Indian restaurant called "ga..y..lord" in schaumburg. it was an okey place. my eyes started to scan the area. prolly its just a routine .. that i have been used to .. trying to make myself comfortable in an hostile environment [ of all indians]. everybody with wife, kids and families. they even had this dyam n celebrating party of bunch of idiots there in the center as if they were the guest of honor.... of course.. its not natural that indian people would be taking money out of their pocket to dine out. .. i remember a friend of mine who could manage with IRs 25 for the whole month... . i was kind of taken by surprise by these neo-richie Indians in US.
and in the mean time I was curshing myself for walking into an indian place. i should have gone to dakota. i would have been able to sought a companion for the night there.
[nepal ma pani .. testo paisa wala .. yestai Neo- richie nai hunu parchha.....]
i seated myself in the bar.
after a minute this guys comes over and scorns @ me. and blurts.. we close in 15 minutes. i was kind of indifferent and numbed by cold. so i just ignored his statement and ordered my self double shot of couvessior. this guy had to go back to the storage to get the drink. either this was a very popular drink or exactly the opposite.
anyway after 5 minutes of torture.. finally i get my drink. i gulped this drink as if the world was coming to an end. 2 sip and the drink was gone.. dy....amn.. this guy is cheating me with the portion. so, i had to do something. i slipped $10 to this bar tender. all of a sudden .. hospitality becomes his second name. he gets me another drink.. twice the amount and that was on the house (O: .. wow..!!! genorosity seems coming.
i was half way through this drink. of course i was partly sedated. my eyes started to drool. then my eyes caught 2 females entering the establishment. one was a old ha...g.. i should say she was a chaperoene for the other lady (O:. old ha....g was an american and the other was ... i do not know.. her complexion was as white as milk. i was dubious.. as to whether she was an Indian or Nepali. i just kept myself to my drink. while my eyes were still scanning her over the television monitor on the wall. she had a nice figure and i already un...dressed her in my mind.
they come and threw themselves on the stools next to me. our friendly bar tender brings "white zinfandale" to those ladies. they seem to be regular.. my intoxicated brain started to speculate.
next i hear is this stammering voice "where in india you from?" [ definitely she had more than 3 drinks before she entered]
i was like " I AM NOT FROM INDIA!!!!" but then again what's the point in arguing with intoxicated people.... as me was not in any better shape. I replied "amit ji ka allahabad se"
of course .. she took me for "allahabadian" and for me I cared less...
she started to utter her life story to me. she was married and has a kid. she was very attractive for a female with a kid... i would have to admit that she had maintained her figure well. her husband (amit) was working for stm electronics. and she was working for where else surprise motorola.. as was the case with 80% of indians in schaumburg. was it a coincidence that i mentioned "amit". of course not!!!. i knew her from before .. i have met her before.. where.. .. was it schaumburg? .. oh sh..it.. that was 6 years ago...
her chaperoene interjects that they are celebrating her promotion. wow. i figured.. that was a nice way to spend the night. although it was
anyway.... only thing i remember is she paid for my drinks reminded me that I need to keep in touch with her whenever i am in town and.. that's it...

2000, i was in motorola for a split mode functionality demonstration. it was a big audience. 60 people were in the room and i was presenting the advantage of fault tolerant nature of the fx platform and the split mode feature available in aix operating system.
at the end of presentation, i was suppose to meet with 6 engineers in gsm-rsmg group. it was the first time i was ever been in motorola headquarter. it certainly was a huge building. i was suppose to be in this lab at Q1-13 and i could not find it. to be accurate i was lost. i could not find my way to either to the reception ot the lab. then i bump to this fair girl. i ask her if she knows where Q1-13 is. this was my first encounter with anuksha.,.....
