If only Nepal had been bigger .....at least 2 its size b4 the Anglo-Nepal war......we wouldn't have been as dependent 2 India as now. Cld anyone enlighten me on the extent of the boundaries of Greater Nepal. Cheers

The problem does not lie in our geographical boundary. The root cause of our problem lies in our brain, and promoting the narrow-mindedness. India might play some part, but mostly it has to do with ourselves.

I totally agree with u mate.....it would be helpful if u cld higlight the extent of our glorious past ......which is wat one would stand up for wouldn't they ??? We stand up for our beliefs and what we r don't we. N our history is an essential part of it......Greater Nepal was a time when we really had a say of our destiny as a nation and where we stood ......without any duress of the implications involved .......that is i really meant....Narrow-mindness.......ehh

There's a whole book written about it by Buddhi Narayan Shrestha. This is what I found through google.

you can find a book "modern nepal" by rishikesh shah in most univeristy and public libraries. There is a map of nepal before the treaty of sugauli. It extends from tista in the east and kangda in teh west, and upto gorakhpur in the south. the northern border stays at the himalayas. The Sugauli treaty lost nepal a chunk of land and the present nepal was formed except the 4 districts of mahakali zone, which was rewarded to nepal (actually jung bahadur rana) after the sepoy mutiny in india.
