I do not understand your logic where will we bring money to run a Republic Nepal. Where are we getting money now and what will be different after Nepal become Republic. I do not think any country gives money to develop Nepal. They have their own interests. In fact, the World Bank and IMF are the key organizations that helps to make poor country poorer. We could discuss this in different time.

People of Nepal are no different than people of Scandinavian Countries or any countries in the world. What makes one person different from other is education, his social structure. Do not forget time is big factor in any things. Why do want to go Europe just look the history of India. It also took them almost four decades to flourish their democratic values. Do not you see different in India of early 90s and India of 2005. Are you aware with history of Western Europe? Do you know what French did in French Revolutions ? Do you know the history of Monarchy in England ? It is the 21st century and nobody has birth right rule people. It is people who will decide who will rule them.

What's wrong with Venezuela? That's good example of how the power of people work. Do you know what is the role of the US to destabilise Venezuela. YEah easy to say Republic. But where the hell are you going to get the $$$ to establish the Socio-economic infrastructure ? 'Mock parliament' gives nod for talks with Maoist

A ?mock session? of the dissolved House of Representatives and the National Assembly (NA) Tuesday endorsed the idea of dialogue with the CPN (Maoist) as part of resolving the protracted crisis.

The mock session attended by the members of the dissolved parliament, incumbent and former NA members and senior leaders of the seven-party alliance passed a motion accepting the talks offer from the rebel party. According to the resolution, the seven parties will form a team to negotiate with the Maoists.

The meet also denounced the recently promulgated ordinances governing the I/NGOs and the civil servants.

The mock parliament denounced the verdict of the Royal Commission for Control of Corruption (RCCC) slapping two-year jail term and Rs.90 million fine to former Prime Minister and Nepali Congress (Democratic) president Sher Bahadur Deuba and former minister Prakash Man Singh convicting them of corruption in Melamchi Drinking Water Project. The all-powerful anti-graft body also handed one-year to two-year jail term and heavy penalty to three government officers and the contractor of the project.

Reading out the motion passed by the session, National Assembly vice-chairman Ramprit Paswan, who chaired the session, said the RCCC verdict is unconstitutional and politically motivated.

Addressing the mock session, Nepali Congress president Girirja Prasad Koirala said the parties? agitation would thrash the feudalistic quarters. ?Feudalists should start packing up their luggage,? the NC boss warned. The seven-party movement, he said, would not end unless total democracy is restored in the country.

Likewise, CPN (UML) leader Madhav Kumar Nepal said, ?The royal regime is intent on branding those standing in favour talks with Maoists as terrorists and declare banned the political parties that oppose the royal takeover.? ?The decision of the royal commission shows their tendency.?

If you try out rebublicanism, there are a lot of lives to be lost, lot of instability, at least during the execution phase and who knows what considering the types of leaders in nepal. Then if we find out it does not work, it might not be possible to revert back to where we are. Might be too late. Maybe it will have to be taken over by India. गोरखामा केही कुरा मलाई बिर्सिनसक्नु लागे । त्यहाँ लुते राजनीति मस्तसँग घुरिरहेको छ । तथापि विद्यार्थी र कविहरूले जसोतसो चेतनाको घिडघिडो थामेका छन् । कविता वाचन गर्नेहरूको लाममा किशोरीहरूको ताँती दृष्टिगोचर भयो । नारी जागरणको एउटा आसलाग्दो दसी हो त्यो । गोरखामा नागरिक समाज र नागरिक प्रशासनको नाता निकै राम्रो देखेँ । प्रजिअ तारानाथ गौतम, स्थानीय विकास अधिकारी केदार बोगटी र प्रहरी नायक उपरीक्षक ईश्वरीबाबु कार्की तीनै जना साहित्यनुरागी । मञ्चमा तीनै जना हुनुहुन्थ्यो । त्यो पनि फगत लोकाचार पूरा गर्न हैन, नागरिक भेषमा विनयशील कवि भएर । शाही शासनमा मैले अन्त त्यस्तो विरलै देखेको छु । शान्त र सौम्य साहित्यिक कार्यक्रमहरूमा व्यवधान पैदा गर्ने ठालु हाकिमहरू भने मैले कति देखेको छु, कति !

पाँच घण्टा लामो कार्यक्रम डाँडाको घामसँगै तुरियो । तर, सहभागीहरूमा थकानरहित उमङ्ग भने जीवितै रह्यो । आतिथेय मित्रहरूको प्रबल आग्रह थियो- मित्र, आखिर नआउनु आइहालियो, तैतै डाँडामाथिको प्राचीन शाही दरबार हेर्न किन नजाऊँ ? मलाई भने बिसे नगर्चीको गाउँ हेर्न जाने रहर थियो । तर, त्यहाँ नगर्चीको नाम कसैले पनि लिएन । मन खिसि्रक्क भयो । नगर्ची उनको जन्मथलो गोरखामा अझै इतिहासको पादटिप्पणीमै विस्मृत छन् । मुकारुङको कविता गोरखामा पुगेकै छैन । जब त्यो पुग्छ, गोरखाले शनैशनै आँखा खोल्नेछ । र, महाराज पृथ्वीनारायण शाहको दरबार हेर्न झुत्तिनेहरूको लस्कर नागरिक बिसे नगर्चीको बस्तीतिर माडिने छ । जब त्यो दिन आउँछ, गोरखामा नागरिक इतिहासको नयाँ बिहानीको सूर्योदय हुनेछ ।

Monarchy is not working though we have given this institution more than 400 years. Demorcracy under monarchy dind not work either. Autocracy is the last breath of Monarchy. Future of Nepal is Republic of Nepal.
