Three universities transfer when getting your Bachelor's? Change of Status is probably another option. It doesn't have to be reinstated.

If you are really interested in study, then it makes sense to go back to the college. If it's just for maintaining status, then I would not suggest going back to F1. You can't even work with F1 visa. You need to pay lots of money for tuition and living expenses. It's better you look for other avenues if you're not genuinely interested in higher education.

That sounds good suggestion. What might be the other avenue since time is limited. Do you have any idea whether Nepal might get 2 months or 6 months to explore other options ? Since TPS for Nepal started in 2015, it's possible that Nepal might be granted 6 months ? The case of Afgan lawsuit is still unknown. I think their TPS valid till July 12.

@Pardeshimanche, there is no one size fits all in this case. If you're qualified, you can look for migrating to Australia or Canada. Aajkal Japan tira ni jana thalya chan Nepal bata. Europe ma pani ramrai cha bhanchan. At the end of the day, you need to make a decision what is best for you. If you are interested in higher education and if you think it can help you progress in your career, then you should convert to F1. USA ma PhD nai gareko manche le pani GC napara farkeko tha cha. GC ko aas ma time ra paisa barbaad nagarnu bhanna khojeko maile chai. Depending on individual situations, there might be some other avenues.

Thank you ShaniDev. The nypost.com mentioned Nepal TPS will be extended till Dec 2025. But don't know how reliable that online sources is. If USCIS did not give 6 months and if we not find best options then it is little hard to sell cars, furnitures, transfer funds etc in short period of time.

6 months extension is more than likely to happen. They might announce right before the end of the TPS (after June 20). I guess the administration is just hoping people to leave before that because of the uncertainities.

Thanks again ShaniDev. If that's the case, it helps. If so, I might prepare to apply PhD programs (might be interesting later) and look for assistant-ship. If might be better than returning, or best way to kill the time. For me it might be best among the worst options, if I get funding from schools.

TPS is a legal status. You will not get denied to any US college based on status while you're on TPS.

Hell Safel shyam, I think you can apply one year MBA program which is around 16k at National Lewis Univ Chicago. The city college of Chicago associate program might be around 400 per credit. Univ of Texas at Tyler one master program might be around 13K. You can explore on your interest and in your region or might go village and live a simple and worthful life if nothing works out. I believe most of us have some savings to live simple life in hometown. I have open all the options for me.

@ ShaniDev @ Pardeshimanche, Thank you Guys. But 2/3 years ago they denied reinstated application saying transfer to 3 colleges. So will you think USCIS will approve reinstate? I am confused.

@safakshyam Try to get an I-20 from a college you can afford. Along with I 539 write a letter to USCIS that degree will help you get a job back home and you have strong family ties. send copy of pay stub with sufficient bank statement. If you have some scholarship proof from college, include that. Briefly explain past challenges like wrong program, high tuition or homesickness etc. In sum- the degree is important, you are doing well, strong ties and enough funds . Try to make short and simple. I think you will be fine. Hope this helps.
