If you look at the front page of your sue document, you might see case type, Contract, Civil, Criminal. I think X marked on Contract. Then you don't have to worry.
However, if your company owe any tax to States( which is also X marked on Contract), and you WON'T be able to pay before the court date, then you're in trouble. Consult an attorney.
Good luck!!!!

Don't listen to this BS UGLY IN SARI ...She makes no sense. If you are being sued by IRS, it will be in a tax court. When is contract a case type? Contract case can be civil or criminal. A S corp is a citizen of the state its registered in. And the shareholders are just shareholders. And if you the only one in the board or only shareholder you would have to be the representative of the company or an attorney. And anyone from around the world can be a shareholder of a company. But if you have paid dividend to yourself in the past and co mingled the company funds with your personal one the Judge can pierce the corporate veil, then the person suing the corp can can after you and the benefits given by the entity's status as a corporation won't be available to you...

@ masane, For your information I didn't use the word IRS.
There are 50 States in US. If you establish business in any States you have to pay states tax along with Federal Tax (IRS).
And if you're failure to pay States Tax, they don't have tax court, State Govt. will take you to same court, but case type is different.
If you failure to pay any money and someone take you to court..credit card, tax, rent... its call Contract case,
If a police give you a red light ticket, if you harrase your ex gf, its civil case.
If you pay woman to sleep with you, use drug, rob bank, kill someone..its criminal case.
I think the person knows what I am talking about.
Masane, you're really pakeh. LOL. Please someone explain Masane...

Ugly In sari didi, S corporations don't pay taxes, all the income are passed to the shareholders and they report the taxes when they file their taxes... Let me make it clear....If you get a red light ticket thats a criminal case, and you harass you ex gf that's a criminal case.... If you don't know about things, it would be wise to do some research..... And you are a pakhini...... Sexy in sari re ....filling your real life void with that name eh?
